USMC

Patriotism
I wasn’t satisfied with my life experience or opportunities.
I knew that was a good drink to quench all of those.

6. Tell me about your boot-camp experience?
Boot camp was lame.  By far the easiest part of my career.

7. How did you get through it?
By breathing air and not being retarded.

8. Where did you serve the majority of the time in the service?
Camp Lejeune, NC.  Also spent lots of time in Okinawa, and short periods in Djibouti, Oman, Jordan, Israel, Spain, and Italy.

9. Tell me about some special people you met while serving?
Misery loves company.  Shared suffering builds a bond for life.
Lots of great guys, lots of turds.

10. Who was the most influential to you while serving?
Tough call, there’s several.  Anybody who was especially hard on me.

11. Tell me a funny story you experienced that could only happen in the military.
I was training in Oki.  Got compromised while in the bushes while wearing a Ghillie Suit, running down the street to our “extract point.”  I took a knee behind cover right in front of the library.  My pants crotch tore, my dick popped out of my underwear.  I was like-well do I put cammie paint on it or tuck it back in…whatever.

12. What did you get out of the military?
Leadership training and experience.
Life experiences
Maturity
Knowledge
Beyond confidence
Purpose
Understanding
Best Friends
GI Bill

13. Best and worse food you ate?
MREs were pretty bad but when starving anything is good.  The food on the ship was often worse than the MREs.  Best food was the Chowhall nearest the General’s building. Omelets made to order daily, tons of fresh healthy food.

14. What did you go on to do as a career post- service?
Current MBA student

15. Would you do it again?
I would do it sooner so I would still be young after my first enlistment.

16. What do you enjoy doing on your spare time?
I read a lot, or learn in general via YouTube.  I stay active with different outdoor activities, often in the mountains.  I stay fit in the gym and do Jiu Jitsu.  I also try new things often.

17. What does the American flag mean to you?
1A and 2A and the sacrifices made to keep those.  That includes the right to kneel during the anthem as well as the right to criticize that choice.
